The Sun Alignment Phenomenon of Abu Simbel Tours and Trips
Mark your calendars because on February 22 and October 22 at 12:00 am, Egypt will experience the sun alignment phenomena at the Abu Simbel temple. You will be picked up from your Aswan hotel by a knowledgeable tour guide from Dr. Mo Tours.
The celebrations will take place in front of the Abu Simbel Temple on this momentous day, and they will be broadcast for the entire globe to witness Egypt’s magnificent culture.
The alignment, which began at 5:49 am and lasted for 20 minutes, was celebrated.
The temple said that thousands of visitors formed the “largest tourist queue” in Egypt before entering the temple when it opened its doors to the public at 3 am to allow for viewings of the sun alignment.
The sun also lit the statues of the sun gods Re-Horakhte and Abu Simbel, near Ramses II. Abu Simbel is the largest temple carved out of rock in the world. It was built to worship the sun in a stunning location on the west bank of the Nile.
Every year, on February 22 and October 22, the Temple of Ramses II in Abu Simbel experiences the phenomena of solar alignment, where the sun’s rays travel 200 meters down the front corridor of the entry before reaching the Holy of Holies.
The platform that makes up the Holy of Holies has statues of King Ramses II, his sister, the goddess Ra-Hor, the god Amun, and the god Ptah sitting next to them.
You will be transported back to your hotel after viewing Ptah, known to the ancient Egyptians as the deity of darkness since the sun does not shine on his face.
