Soma Bay is a quiet peninsula south of Hurghada, so most trips start with a slightly longer transfer. From here you can dive or snorkel the house reefs and nearby sites, take a desert safari, or go inland: Luxor is roughly three and a half hours by road through Safaga, and Cairo is best reached by flight from Hurghada.
