The Karnak temple complex is a magnificent example of ancient architecture and art that came to be known in the middle kingdom as pet-isu or “The most select of sites,” also known as Pr-In or “House of Amon.” It was built to honor the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu between the years 2000 and 30 BC on 247 acres of sacred Theban ground. Its Precinct of Amun-Re, large hypostyle hall, and legendary and entrancing Avenue of Sphinxes that links it to the lovely Luxor Temple are all contained there.

It hosts the Opet festival, which celebrates the revival of kingship and brings together the human side of the Royals with the divine powers.

The mythological war account of Horus exacting retribution on his evil uncle Set is preserved in the Edfu Temple, a divine storybook. It was built on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt between 237 BC and 57, roughly 60 km north of Aswan, which is renowned for being one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient wonders.

Return to your ship and eat lunch and dinner there. There will be a night on the Aswan cruise (late-night arrival).

Aswan High Dam

The blessed Aswan High Dam was constructed between the 1960s and 1970s in order to have a beneficial impact on Egypt’s culture, economy, and future while allowing Egypt to benefit from the advancements of the industrial age.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The magnificent Queen Hatshepsut’s Unfinished Obelisk (1508–1458 BC), Egypt’s finest architectural open-air museum, illuminates the mystique of ancient Egyptian ability and expertise. The Lateran Obelisk in Rome was intended to stand alongside it at the magnificent gateway of the Karnak temple complex at a height of 41.75 meters (137.0 feet), but sadly, it was damaged during construction.

Philae Temple

The goddess Isis of beauty and motherhood reveals the timeless “Myth of Osiris” in her famous Philae temple, which serves as both her residence and site of worship. It was built by King Ptolemy II between 380 and 362 BC, and due to the building of the Aswan High Dam, it was moved to Agilkia Island between the 1970s as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project.

Abu Simbel Temples

In order to worship Amun, Ra, and Ptah and to demonstrate his military prowess in the Kadesh, Ramses the Great (1279–1213 BCE) constructed the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel over the course of 20 years, from 1264 BC to 1244 BC. The great sun festival, which takes place every year on October 22 and February 22, has always been hosted in the golden temple of King Ramses II, while the second temple is devoted to his lovely, devoted wife Queen Nefertari.

During the reign of King Ptolemy V in the Ptolemaic dynasty, the double temples of the hill of gold Kom Ombo Temple were constructed from 205 to 180 BC to serve as the places of worship for Haroeris, also known as “Horus the Elder,” on the north and Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile, on the south. The temple is a magnificent work of building that is split into two temples that are exactly symmetrical and display astronomical and medicinal knowledge from this period in Egyptian history.

In the center of an underground hill in the Theban necropolis grounds, there is a historical gem known as the Royal Valley of the Kings that has endured the test of time. It has a mysterious underground labyrinth with 63 royal tombs dating from the 18th to the 20th dynasty, including those of Ramses the Great, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Tutankhamen, and other notable pharaohs who ruled the new kingdom (1570–1050 BC).

Hatshepsut Temple

The beautiful Queen Hatshepsut mortuary temple (1507–1458 BC) is a class act that displays the traditional aesthetic architecture that gave it the moniker “holy of the holies.” It was constructed in 1479 BC during the New Kingdom (1570–1050 BC) to have three enormous levels showing absolute perfection that eternalized her successful accomplishments and worshipped Amun, the sun deity who created the world.

Colossi of Memnon

The surviving Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386–1349 BC) were constructed in quartzite sandstone in 1350 BC, and they have undergone numerous renovations throughout history. It features designs on its sides that highlight his ancestry, accomplishments, and a representation of the Nile god Hapi.
