The extraordinary Giza Pyramids complex, which includes the great three pyramids of Giza, six smaller pyramids, the huge sphinx, and the Valley Temple, was created during the old kingdom (2686–2134 BC) as a sign from above.
The Great Pyramid
The great pyramid of Giza, which stands 147 meters tall and is made out of 2.3 million limestone blocks weighing a combined 6 million tons, is the final burial place of Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC – 2584 BC). This is a result of Hemiunu’s innovative architecture and strong construction.
The Great Sphinx
Between 2558 BC and 2532 BC, the fabled statue of the great sphinx, the honorable Pharaoh Khafre, was created to celebrate his legendary knowledge and unending power.
The Valley Temple
Between 2600 and 2700 BC, the Valley temple was built for one reason, and one goal only: to perform the mummification ritual on 4th dynasty kings and queens before they are entombed in the great pyramids of Giza.
Lunch will be served at the Pyramids/ Nile view restaurant, then move to visit:
The Egyptian Museum
The majestic treasures and monuments of the fabled ancient Egyptian civilization, which date back more than 5000 years, are protected and preserved in the Egyptian museum, a wonderful structure without the control of the time that was built in the center of Cairo in 1901 AD.
Al Muizz Street
Al-Muizz Street, which dates to the 10th century AD and is located in the center of Cairo close to the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar, is a well-preserved avenue that leads to the early days of the golden Islamic era. It provides a look into the period’s architectural style and decorative arts.
Khan El Khalili Bazaar
The magnificent bazaar of Khan EL Khalili was constructed between 1382 and 1389 AD to be a hub of shopping presenting an unending variety of genuine and exotic shopping items from the rich history and culture of ancient Egypt. It is a golden realm of treasures.
