Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings, the ultimate resting place of Egypt’s kings from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, is where the tombs of great pharaohs Ramses II and Tutankhamun are located. The tombs were fully furnished with everything a monarch may require in the afterlife in terms of material things. The majority of the interior decorations are still in good condition.

Hatshepsut Temple

One of the most stunning and well-preserved temples from Ancient Egypt is the Hatshepsut temple. The temple was constructed on three levels, connected by two large ramps in the middle.

Colossi of Memnon

The only remnants of a complete funerary temple are two enormous stone statues of pharaoh Amenhotep III known as the Colossi of Memnon. The statues are constructed from Cairo-based quartzite sandstone blocks that were transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.
