Overview
A snorkelling boat trip from Makadi Bay to the reefs along the coast south of Hurghada. Hotel pick-up in Makadi, a short drive to the marina, then a day at sea with several snorkelling stops, lunch on the boat and time to swim and sunbathe. Beginners are welcome; the crew helps with masks, fins and life jackets.
The reefs near Makadi are shallower and calmer than many sites further north, which makes them good for families and first-time snorkellers. Expect hard and soft corals, schools of reef fish, giant clams and, regularly, sea turtles. Water stays between about 22°C in winter and 28°C in summer.
