Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Fly to Cairo - Visit the Pyramids & the Museum
Your tour will start when one of our representatives picks you up from your hotel in Soma Bay and drives you to the Cairo airport, where you will meet your Egyptologist guide who will show you all the city’s top landmarks, including:
Giza Pyramids Complex
Since 2600 BC, the three enormous pyramids of Giza—Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—as well as the magnificent Sphinx have stood in the center of Cairo, making this area the most comprehensive example of ancient Egyptian art and architecture.
The Great Pyramid
Since 2580 BC, King Khufu’s enormous pyramid has stood in the city of Giza as his eternal resting place. Its 147-meter height and extremely sophisticated internal architecture earned it the distinction of being one of just two remaining seven wonders of the ancient world.
The Great Sphinx
The famous statue of pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 BC) in his own likeness, with the whole physical appearance of a sitting lion, stands in front of the enormous second pyramid of Khafre with the only objective of safeguarding the cultural legacy of this ancient civilization.
The Valley Temple
Imagine a huge temple called the valley temple that was constructed in the old kingdom (2686–2134 BC) to manipulate time and achieve immortality and where the ancient kings’ and queens’ bodies were mummified.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant with a view of the Nile and a pyramid, then you proceed to
The Egyptian Museum
More than 150,000 artifacts from the ancient historical periods of ancient Egypt, including the mummies of kings and queens, made of rocks like limestone granite and more, as well as rich materials like precious stones and more frequently gold, can be found in the entirety of Tutankhamen’s treasures, are housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which displays the immortally beautiful essence of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
You can travel to your five-star hotel in Cairo and stay there the entire night.
Day 02: Visit Alexandria Attractions - Fly Back to Soma Bay
Having breakfast, leaving the hotel, and continuing your tour of Alexandria with the guide will allow you to:
Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa
The catacombs, the most exceptional example of ancient Greco-Roman architecture and art, are one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. However, this necropolis contains a majestic mixture that includes the artistic elements and artifacts of both the ancient Egyptian and Hellenistic cultures, dating all the way back to the second century AD.
Pompey’s Pillar
The largest monolithic column to have ever stood outside of Rome is the pillar of Pompey. It is 2.7 broad and 28 meters tall and is built of red granite. Since many people think General Pompey’s remains were at the summit of the pillar, it was given that name.
Qaitbay Citadel
The Qaitbay Citadel, the sole historic Islamic building in the entire city of Alexandria, was erected in 1477 BC on the same site as the former ancient lighthouse of Alexandria. It was built from rocks rescued from the lighthouse and has remarkable Islamic ornamentation.
A seafood restaurant will serve lunch, and your tour will conclude with a visit to:
Alexandria Library
One of Egypt’s most well-known buildings, it serves as a memorial to the historic Alexandria library, which was home to a number of exquisite art galleries and exhibits in addition to a collection of rare volumes in Arabic, French, and English.
Your tour will come to a close after which you will move to the Cairo airport, get a flight back to Hurghada, and then drive to your hotel in Soma Bay.
